Power Theft Claims Three Lives in Tripura


Agartala, Sep 19 (IANS): Stealing power proved costly for three youth in a Tripura village when they got electrocuted in the act, police said here Wednesday.

"Three youths, aged 24-25 years, died on the spot Tuesday night when they came into contact with live electric wires. The youths were trying to take electricity illegally from an overhead line for a puja pandal at Bishalgarh, 25 km south of here," a police spokesman told reporters here.

After the incident, villagers reported the matter to police, who immediately rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Bishalgarh hospital for autopsy.
