Ajman: Newly Expanded Library Inaugurated at GMC Hospital

Ajman, Sep 20: In pursuant of its strategic expansion plans, Gulf Medical University recently inaugurated the newly expanded library at GMC Hospital, Ajman.

Chief guest professor Gita Ashok Raj in the presence of the guest of honor Dr Manvir Singh Walia, medical director-operations, GMC Hospital and all the eminent doctors, staff of the hospital inaugurated the newly expanded library.

 The purpose of establishing the newly expanded library is to develop library facilities, services and systems that match world’s best practices, utilize skilled staff who would fully exploit all resources and to offer high quality services by focusing on regional collaboration, cooperation, networking and resource sharing. 

Multimedia collection and services, online database access, internet andintranet access, online catalogues, e-books and e-journals, intern-library loan and inter-library document delivery, photocopying and binding services, study carrels, group study rooms, audio and video room sections are some of the facilities and services available in the newly expanded library at GMC Hospital.

“In order to provide effective management incorporating ethical standards we will respond to community needs, be good stewards of community resources, protect privacy rights of patrons and staff, promote team work, encourage use of center by all, collaborate with community groups and provide a user-friendly environment”,  commented professor Gita Ashok Raj.
