Diesel rate is Rs.55/- while Diesel Turbo is Rs.70/- just Rs.4/- less than Petrol. This hike will definetly bear load to common man. Definetly bus fair or rikshaw fair will be hiked. Naturally this bandh is a strong signal to UPA. The basic reason is the decline in Rupee value which makes the Fuel cost expensive. In other words, excessive hoarding of money in Swiss, unable to raise Rupee value is the reason for excessive increase in price of commodities. Iam quite sure Congress will be out of power in Centre if they continue with this sort of administration.

Are! Harshith,Mangalore How come this coconut come in to your 'coconut'?
Anyhow, hope your coconut will understand the price logic of coconut explained by you.The rural price of coconut comes at Re 8 to 9 in bulk at tree top.All overheads have to be borne by Pais,Kamaths etc., till it reaches their shop and margin will be Re.1 or 2 only. This is only for your informattion only.Since our boys Harshith etc.,have become "thigale baggujis" we depend on Bijapuris who are more prone to such work than 'our boys'.
You also watch due to the lazy attitude our "thigale baggujis" in coming years your coconut will be imported from Srilanka....price Rs.20/-It will be very difficult to see 'thendels'in your tree!!!

It is true that present system of commodity trading in any market is in the grip of middlemen & brokers, who fleece farmers as well as loot consumers by hoarding the commodities. While farm producers are based in villages these middlemen are based in nearby Town having grip on Mandis. So these brokers decide the price of the agriculture produces instead of actual grower. All these middlemen are very powerful in those small towns and hence they are all active members of any one political party invariably.
If a farmer sells his produce for Rs.10/- it will reach last retailer at Rs.40/ who keep profit of Rs.10/- and sell it to consumer for Rs.50/-. Here you can see who is the actual beneficiary. Farmer got only Rs.10/- Retailer also got only Rs.10/- but the middleman got Rs.30/- that is three times more than others in this chain. FDI will give farmer Rs.20/- keep profit of Rs.10/- plus administrative cost of Rs.10/- and sell to consumer at Rs.40/- thereby farmer gets Rs.10/- more and consumer saves Rs.10/-.

Whether it is BJP or Congress or for that matter any party they are all puppets in the hands of world bank and rich capitialist. The laws are made to suit their convenience and not for the poor people 2% of world's population enjoys 80% of world's wealth and this 2% decides the game plan. The politicians simply dance to their tunes. Most of our politicians may not be knowing what is FDI. The 2% dictate terms and is being obediently followed by the so called rulers. Unless the world brings into existence a system without money with equality as its base, then there is no escape from such liberlisation policies. Even BJP comes into power it shall also dance accordingly to the tunes of the 2%.
It is we lesser mortals who cannot understand the game plans of rich. Slowly the entire economy of the world will fall into the hands of MNC's. The end will come when 1% fo world population takes control of 100% of world's wealth!!

Big Jokers Party showed its' stupidity at the best. It is a Big Joke. Instead of protest against the price rise of fuel, people should close down the state in protest of 600 Crores Rupees fraud by BJP led Government. And secondly Public should protest against the junket trips around the world by Elected Officials when the State is in financial trouble. Why Congress party is not putting up their show against the junket trips. Where is Mr.Ivan of Youth Congress. Mr.Oscar will show up when things cool down as usual.

FDI is debatable , but it has some pros and cons. It may benefict customers and farmers , also vl stop baniya raj. But if say WALL MART imports goodies from say bangladesh , vietnam with cheaper price and poor quality? . Also the govt should fix base price for any perishable item , otherwise MNC's vl get items at cheapers price and sell it at marginal higher price. Hoarding at worst. 6 cylinders pe family , r u kidding. Most of the indians areof joint family , more members with single ration card. Atleast v need 24 cylindrs per year. If oil and gas companies bleed ? , lett hem bleed , let them bleed profusely and this make sEnse. Otherwise peaple vl kicku out in 2014.

Shame on those who called and supported the Bandh that only impacts common person and not politicians who live in resorts. I do not think people who called for Bandh have taken time to understand the issues nor the UPA Government is explaining the reason for the hike in prices well enough to the citizens in order to understand the current situation.
Fuel based resources are heavily subsidized by the Central Government in India. Due to increases in crude oil prices in international markets, prices will go up for the consumer. There is pressure from IMF and World Bank to lower the subsidies on fuel based resources.
Only recently in last few years, Government is struggling to remove subsidies and some few states (like Goa and WB) have lowered the taxes on Petrol and Diesel to help common man of their states. Karnataka Government has benefitted from price increase since more revenue based on taxes on petrol and diesel. That is reason petrol is six to seven rupees cheaper in BJP ruled Goa.
During recent Udipi MP election, DVS had promised that fuel taxes will be lowered by the State Government and no one from State Government will speak about it or help the common man.
Mangalore MP is leading the group of 25 people to protest and it is his job to explain the discussion in Parliament to his constituents on fuel prices and high taxes applied on fuel in the State also.
India cannot be superpower as estimated to be in 2020 if ruled by these thugs who force bandh and take advantage of the situation for their own benefit rather common man who works ten to 12 hours a day for this daily bread and support his family.

It is the commodity Brokers (Baniyas & Lalas) who are the biggest financiers to BJP (Baniya Jathiya Party). Due to FDI in Retail sector these Brokers & Middlemen will be out of business. So, they will be the biggest losers because till now it is these commodity-brokers who have cheated Farmers/Growers by giving lowest price and also cheated final retailers/Consumers by keeping hefty profit margins. FDI in Retail will cut the wings of such profiteering Brokers, and benefit both farmers and final retailers/consumers as it can pass on the benefit of amount saved on account of hefty brokers' commission or middlemen's profit margin.

I have few questions and suggestions.

    1. Why state government has not announced that they are going to increase the number of Cylinders from 6 to 12 compared to that of Congress rules states which have already announces state governments will take the subsidy burden on 3 cylinders.

    2. Request the congress leaders at the state to press for increasing the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy and other crops across the country so that they can reduce the burden of increased price of diesel. This way the burden on farmers can be reduced.

    3. If BJP thinks that the increase in diesel prices are going to effect the ordinary citizens why dont they reduce the ticket prices of the public transport. Also give incentives to all private transprt companies. This will reduce the burden on ordinary citizens.

The person who never opened his mouth during any of the parliamentary sessions is only fit to roam the backstreets of DK and raise slogans in Tulu and Kannada for his political gain.
Does he know that India’s trade deficit rose to $13.9 billion in March from $3.8 billion a year ago, driven by high crude oil import costs? Imports for the month of April’12 aggregated $42.6 billion leaving a trade gap of $13.9 billion, according to the data released by the Commerce Ministry.
Does he know that the Import bill in 2011-12 touched $488.6 billion on account of rise in imports of crude oil and gold? Imports of both crude oil and gold items alone accounted for over 44 per cent of total import bill.
Does he know that due to recession all around our GDP had ped still our genius PM, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s brilliant economic policy, India's exports surpassed the target of $300 billion for 2011-12 despite problems in Europe and the US that led to decline in shipments by 5.71 per cent in March and spurt in trade deficit to all time high of $185 billion in the last fiscal?
Does he know that if UPA lead by Dr. Manmohan Singh and team loses the 2014 parliamentary election, India will have a bad overall growth and a bleak future?
    Jai Hind!

INDIA being a democratic country it is good to protest, however in future why don't they come out with some productive ideas ! so many people waste their energy shouting/standing/walking etc, instead they should choose to do community service by way of protest, they can have their political party banner and inform people that they are doing this job in protest, they can clean streets or repair roads, plant trees, etc...energy & time is used fruitfully, message to the authority is clear & conveyed by the publicity they can get, people & their party image will gain popularity, everybody benefit, win-win situation to all, I wish & hope somebody or party does this & we hope they govern INDIA....

UPA has emptied nation's treasure by scams/looting and therefore hiking the petrol price and allowing the FDI on retails, putting people in trouble. UPA has no moral rights to continue Govt. Prime Minister is helpless and dancing to the tunes of Sonia and other ministers. 2 years back petrol price was 52 Rs. Within 2 years, petrol price has risen up more than 50% which is not in proportion to international fuel price raise. It is recommended to dissolve UPA Govt and go for fresh mandate. Moreover our PM is getting blame from all over world.
