Shutdown Hit Normal Life in Jharkhand


Ranchi, Sep 20 (IANS): The shutdown called by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to protest hike in diesel price, cap on subsidised LPG cylinders and FDI in retail hit normal life in Jharkhand. Railway, road and others services were badly affected and hit the common man hard.

The railway services was disrupted in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Koderma and other districts of the state. More than 20 trains got stranded at different stations as the protesters blocked the railway tracks.

Schools, shops and commercial complexes are closed in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro and other districts of the state.

The buses and trucks are not plying in the state. The road wore deserted look.

The Jharkhand Bus and Truck Association have also supported the shutdown. Nearly 50,000 buses and trucks are not plying in the state.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which is part of Bharatiya Janta Party-led government, also hit the roads in support of the shutdown.
