Mangalore, Sep 22:
Former state minister B Nagaraj Shetty, who was also the former chairman of Coastal Development Authority announced on Friday September 21 that he would be joining JD(S) on September 24, at the party’s programme to be held at Town Hall.

Addressing reporters, he said that at the JD(S) convention on September 24, former CM and state JD(S) president Kumarswamy, party leaders P G R Sindhya and M C Nanaiah will be present, and he would join JD(S) along with his supporters.

He said that though he had sent his resignation letter to BJP on August 13, there has been no response yet. "Hence, the resignation is deemed to have been accepted," he added.

He informed that he would not contest in the elections from the party but stabilize the party at ground level by campaigning in rural areas.

"I want to see Kumaraswamy as the CM again," he said.

Asked for his reason to quit BJP, Shetty said he was upset with the internal rivalry and groupism in the party. "No one from BJP came to meet me after I quit the party," he said.

Ranjith Malli was present at the press meet.

A failed politician, who 'can't even help a local fish market', deserves total ridicule. Well, it won't happen easily, considering the internal bickering within the BJP's power sharks.
Sadly, these canny politicians take the refuge of a pseudo caste factor and the help of opportunistic party of the day. Life goes on...

No matter which party he jumps into, he is good for nothing and that is why "NO ONE FROM BJP CAME TO MEET HIM AFTER HE QUIT THE PARTY!!!!"

BJP may not be bothered because BJP is better off without having in the party. Though he was an ex-minister and Chairman of the Coastal development Authority, he could not even put any effort to expedite Bejai Fish Market construction work and fish sellers are continue to sell the fish along road side adjacent to his residence for last many years. Leave alone Minister, he should be lucky to become a MLA while he can’t solve such a simple issue under his nose.

Looking at various things one gets a feeling if JD(S) is marching ahead? In one sense it looks to be true. JD(S) has better track record in past compared to Congress and BJP rules.Morever Kumaraswamy is forefront powerful leader liked by many and there looks to be total void in leadership of congress. Bjp has lost peoples support anyway

Even though I have few admirer in BJP both State and National level, from the democracy point of view, Mr. Nagaraj Shetty should have continued in BJP. He has given his entire life for building in Coastal Karnataka this party and he knows the reason why he is leaving it. Might be he is fed up of remote control, who are sitting inside 4 walls or might be the caste factor, which has been suppressed Mr. Shetty's elevation in the party and sidelined him in may occasions.

We wish Nagaraj Shetty all the best. My respect & support is always with u, in whatever party u may join.

“Banale yinda Benkige” is the situation for Nagaraj Shetty. Resigned your selves and waiting for reply from BJP Top Leaders for what? Did you consult BJP Leaders before you resign? Do you think JDS or Congress is better than BJP? They are the worst ever Party ever seen in Karnataka Politics till date. Come on Naganna, speak up now!!! You wanted something which is not granted by BJP and now you are fed up with BJP internal rivalry correct? Do you think JDS is much organized Party in Karnataka? Congress is much worst in that reason for internal rivalry due to castism and religionist!!!

It is surprise to see peoples comments, however, they are their views.

As it is mentioned he was "chairman of Coastal Development Authority". Can some explain what are the good things happened. One can analyse the ratio of ratings.

Now it is almost everyone is aware about the corruption level in Karnataka, so he might have thought, it would be difficult to win under BJP ticket. when looking at Congress, there is very little chance to win as a result of frequent fuel hikes. This might have made him think for early move to JDS.

Forget about Highways (they are said to be maintained by Central Government), take example of other roads, this shows the coastal development.

UNWILLINGLY YOU WERE FORCED TO ACT AGAINST THE INTREST OF MINORITY COMMUNITY WHEN YOU WERE ASSOICIATED WITH BJP.

You are true secular leader and people will appreicate that.

All secular leaders in BJP who unwillingly follow BJP's SAFFRON agend must quit BJP and join other secular parties.

Naganna has told thousand times that Gujarat's Narendra Modi is his 'Role Model'. So, how can he suddenly change his skin ? After all he was called Modi of Bantwal or Modi of Bejai Church Road.
Naganna please do not use the name of Haladi Srinvas shetty to justify your quitting BJP, because Halady is a gem of a person and quite non-controversial. Nalin kateel who was your personal secretary before becoming MP, is today bossing over you. Reason RSS blessings. At last you have learnt how RSS treats people as use & throw.

I am really surprised at Braggs comments that Nagaraj shetty is instrumental in bringing state of the art fish markets in D.K. Right from two Central Markets at Hampankatta to Urva, Bejai, Kankanady markets etc they are just filthy. Today we see Underwears, shoes, socks and clothes being sold in air conditioned malls and look at our markets. Nagaraj shetty is the next door neighbour of bejai market and look at where it stand at the entrance of the church for more than 3 years. Let Nagaraj shetty set right bejai market which is in his vicinity than we talk about D.K.
