Beltangady, Sep 23: A taluk-level volleyball tournament for pre-university colleges was recently organized by Anugraha Pre-University Collage Ujire, here.

Fr Joseph Mascharenahas, correspondent presided over the function. Matthew N M, principal of Sacred Heart PU College, Madanthyar inaugurated the tournament by lighting a lamp.Fr Henry Vas, superior of Dayalbhagh Ashram was the chief guest.

Team of Eighteen boys and seven girls participated in the tournament.

SDM PU College bagged the first place; SDM Residential College was the runner-up in the boy’s category.

Mundaje PU College bagged the first place; SDM PU College was the runner-up in the girl’s category.

Janet Frank headmistress, Valerian Rodrigues, vice president of parish council , collage management committee members, Stella Frank, Arun Rebello, Sylvester Monis, Anil D’Souza, Lancy Pereira were present during  the programme.

Fr Robert D’Souza, principal of Anugraha PU College, gave the introduction and welcomed the gathering. Vasanth compered and Arun proposed the vote of thanks.
