Kasargod, Sep 25: In a tragic incident, a pregnant woman died after she fell off the train near Kotikulam on Sunday September 23.

The deceased has been identified as Sahira (33) from Alampady mini estate.

The incident took place around 8.30 pm when Sahira was on her way back to Kasargod from Kozhikode with her husband Syed Umar.

Sources said that Sahira went to the toilet when the train stopped near Kotikulam railway station. But she did not return. When Syed went to check on her, she was nowhere to be seen. Meanwhile, the train had already reached Kasargod.

Soon Syed got down of the train and logded a complaint with the railway police.

It was later learnt that the body of Sahira was found near Chatangai railway track. It is assumed that Sahira might have slipped out of the door on the way to the toilet.

Syed is a hotelier in Kuwait and had come down on August 5.

Railway police are investigating the case.
