Mangalore, Sep 26: Beautifully decorated Ganesha idols, glittering lights, colourful tableaux and invigorating music adorned the city roads on the evening of Tuesday September 25 as a sea of devotees gathered to mark the immersion of Ganesha's idols.

The Ganeshotsava celebrations were organized by Hindu Yuva Sene, for the 20th year.

The procession that was flagged off from Nehru Maidan wound through A B Shetty circle, Hampankatta, Navabharat circle, Dongerkery and culminated at Car Street where it was immersed in the temple tank.

The entire procession was accompanied by thousands of devotees marching in tandem, singing, dancing and chanting in unison. Drummers and artistes added more colour to the occasion, and vibrant fireworks were the cherry on the cake.

Traffic restrictions were in place throughout the route.

Vow!!what a spectacular festive look of the procession coupled with dance, chanting, drumming etc.I still wonder Ganesha (Vigneshwara) comes and goes every year but why that evils, bad ideology and disharmony amongst the people still exists?.Hope at least with this years Ganeshotsava Festivties culmination must washed away along with Ganesh idols immersion in the water and peace, harmony and brotherhood amongst the people of other communities, sanity must prevail.Oh my Lord Vigneshwara please bless us with love, affection, peaceful life and remove all our obstacles.Vakr thunda maha kaaya, soorya koti sama prabha, nirvignam kurume devaha, sarve kaaryashu sarvadam.Ganapati Bappa Moriya,Pudcha varsha loukar ya.Om namaha shivaaya.OM

Jai ho Shree Ganesha. But we can observe from Idol Immersion Procession that along with Ganesha, people prepare so many other Idols which is unwanted if you consider the environmental issues. We should strict to “Principle of Festival” only, like Ganesha Chaturthy means Lord Ganesha only but not few others emerging in Ganesh Festival
