Mangalore: Five Powerlifters Return from Kazakhstan Championship with Medals

Mangalore, Sep 26: Five powerlifters who represented India at the Asian Benchpress Powerlifting Championship in Kazakhstan arrived at Central railway station here on Tuesday September 26.

The Asian Benchpress Powerlifting championship was held at Kazakhstan from September 18 to 21.

Vincent Carlo, Vijay Kanchan, Sadanand Amin, U Laxman, Mithun Shetty along with Sathish Kumar Kudroli, team coach and manager represented the country in the Asian championship.

Among them, Sadanand Amin and U Laxman bagged silver medals in 77 kg and 66 kg categories, Vijay Kanchan won the bronze in 105 kg category, Mithun Shetty and Vincent Carlo secured fourth place in 93 and 84 kg categories.

They undergo training at Balanjaneya gymnasium in Car Street.
