Dubai : Awards, Entertainment in Store at LF Mukamar Annual Event

Dubai, Sep 26 : The countdown has begun for 'The Sadhan Puroskar' - a scintillating event to be presented by Little Flowers Mukamar, the regional organization of St Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Mukamar, belonging to the Shirva deanery of the Udupi Diocese.

LFM is all geared up on the occasion of their second anniversary to unfold an entertainment extravaganza, on Friday September 28 at the Crystal Lounge of India Club, behind India High School, Sheik Rashid Auditorium, Oud Metha Road, Dubai. The program will commence at 11 am and go on until 4 pm.


The day-long electrifying event will be loaded with live entertainment including old and new Mangalorean and Goan Konkani songs, Kannada, and Tulu songs sung by talented local singers. Popular singers like Mario, Rony Byndoor, Joseph Mathias and several others will take the audience down memory lane.

Dubai's very own Harish Sherigar who will be making his debut in the Konkani industry is all set to sing and promises to enthrall the audience with his melodious voice.

Young and popular singer Nisha Sequeira who hails from Urva, Mangalore, and who has won several singing contests, will also be making her debut in Dubai on this special occasion.

Rosal Sequeria from Dubai will entertain the crowd with his excellent music and foot-tapping numbers of popular Konkani songs.

DJ Party Spinners (DJ Anil and DJ Lancy) will take the audience on a soul stirring musical journey and treat them with a live Baila show.

A Bollywood-style dance performance will be rendered by 'Mehndi', a professional dance troupe.

The programme will be hsoted by well-known comper, Walston D'Sa, Shankerpura who is known for mesmerizing the audience with his inimitable style and humour.

Fr Victor D'Souza, parish priest of St Theresa of Child Jesus Church, Mukamar, and Melvyn Rodrigues, recepient of Central Sahitya Akademi Award and also the director (operations) of Daijiworld.com, will be the chief guests.

Walter Nadalike, editor-in-chief, Daijiworld.com will also grace the occasion as a special guest.
  
As announced earlier in media, three UAE Konkani Catholic parish organizations have been nominated for the finals. The nominated associations are USWAS, an association of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva; Bellevision, an association of St Lawrence Church, Moodubelle (Belle) and Famad Pernal, an association of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Pernal.
 
Among the three, one will be declared winner, and two will be presented with the runners-up title. The winner of the contest will be receiving a memento and the 'Little Flower Sadhan Puroskar Award'. The Puroskar carries a cash prize of INR 25,000. Both the runners-up will be presented with mementoes and cash prizes Rs 10,000. The winner of the coveted title will be announced during the glamorous function.

Speaking to Daijiworld.com Godwin Corda thanked the generous sponsors, benefactors and well-wishers in advance for their wholehearted support. "The main aim of holding this event is to provide entertainment and to raise funds to meet the needs of parish projects as well as charity to needy people back home, by providing them medical assistance, educational support and shelter. It is encouraging to note that the sponsors have been generous enough in supporting LFM event and their causes and LFM are grateful to them," he said.

The programme will begin at 11 am. LFM organizing committee has requested the guests and parishioners to occupy their seats by 10 am.

The tickets for the event were sold out a week ahead of the programme owing to the popularity of the award among the associations.
