Kasargod: Konkani Janapad Utsav Held at Narampady

Kasargod, Sep 26: The Konkani Janapad Utsav was organized by Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in collaboration with Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Narampady, here on Tuesday September 25.

Kasargod Chinna, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy presided and Fr Antony Lasrado, parish priest of Narampady church inaugurated the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinna said that Konkani language is losing its identity as it is mixed up with other languages.

Eric Ozario, Mandd Sobhan gurkar, Sundar Prabhu, former president of Badiyadka gram panchayat were the main guests.

On the occasion, Wilson Kayyar, Raju Ukkinadka and Harish Perla were honored for their contributions in various fields.

As part of the cultural programme, Kudbi, Catholic, Kharvi and GSB groups staged various programmes.

Roy Castelino, academy member, Ashok Shet, Dr Devdas Pai, registrar among others were present.

    IT IS NICE KEEP ALIVE THE JANAPAD SONGS IN KONKANI, KANNADA.
    I HEARD MOSTLY KANNADA JANAPADA SONGS DURING MY CHILDHOOD WHEN THE VILLAGERS IS TO COME AND DOTHE PADDY WORK, THOSE SONGS WERE REALLY FABUOLUS.
    KINDLY MAKE SOME RECORDINGS OF ALL THE SONGS IN KONKANI AND KANNADA
