Mangalore, Sep 27: "In order to create awareness among children on malaria, Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV), a Geneva-based Swiss foundation along with other organization will organize an awareness drive through an inter-school art contest,” said Dr Shantharam Baliga of KMC here at the Press club on Wednesday, September 26.
Medicines for Malaria Venture in collaboration with Kasturba Medical College, Dakshina Kannada Health Department and Malaria Cell of the city corporation will be organizing this contest, which will be coordinated by the Center for Integrated Learning.
Dr Baliga said that around 25 schools across the city have been selected with approximately 6,000 students participating. “Around 100 students will qualify for the final round. The competitions will be held over a span of one week in October,” he added.
The best 250 paintings will be exhibited during the valedictory programme which will be held at the Town Hall on November 2.
Dr Arun, district Malaria officer and Sachitha Nandagopal were present among the others.
