Mangalore: Thieves Return Bare-handed from Seven Houses!

Mangalore, Sep 30: Thieves returned bare-handed from seven houses when they did not find any valuables here at Sambar Thota in Mudipu on Saturday September 29.
The thieves entered the houses belonging to Mohammed, Mohan Gatti, Ibrahim, Moosa, SK Khadar Haaji, Samshiddin and Haji Ibrahim in the wee hours.
It is assumed that the thieves entered the houses between 3 am to 5 am when the family members had retired for the day. Sources said that they searched the houses for gold but could not find any.
Police sources said that all the thieves belonged to a single group as they entered all the seven houses on the same day.
As per the information received, the thieves entered the house from the behind door by breaking the rods. Amongst the seven houses, six were said to be RCC houses while Samshuddin was living in a tiled house.
Mariamma, Ibrahim’s daughter-in-law after finishing her Namaz at around 4 am saw one of the thieves wearing a white baniyan near one of the rooms. She assumed him to be one among the family members and called him by a name. On hearing this, the thief fled from the place. It later came to light that he had attempted for burglary in the house.
It may be recalled that few days back the thieves looted 45 sovereign gold and Rs 30,000 cash from a house belonging to Umar Kunji near Mudipu checkpost, Konaje. The theft at Umar Kunji’s house and now burglary attempt in seven houses has brought fear among the residents living in the locality.
As soon as the incident was spotted into the ears of Konaje police station, SI Shivaprakash rushed to the spot with sniffer dogs and forensic experts.
UT Khadar, MLA, Santhosh Kumar, zilla panchayat member rushed to the spot.
