Udupi: Action-packed Day at Uppoor as Hundreds Take Part in Rural Sports

Udupi, Oct 2: It was a day of high action as people of all ages gathered at a slush track near Uppoor bus stand on NH 66 here on Tuesday September 30 to participate in ‘Kandadonji Dina’ rural sports day organized to mark Dasara festival.

The rural sport was organized by Sarvajanika Sharadotsava Samiti, Uppoor.

The programme was inaugurated by Janani Diwakar Shetty, Jaya Karnataka Udupi district president along with Praveen Kumar, president of Uppoor gram panchayat.

As part of the rural sports, various games like tug of war, running, reverse running, shot put for women and many others were organized for people of all ages.

Hundreds of locals participated in various competitions, drenching themselves in the muddy waters and thoroughly enjoying the day.

Raghavendra Rao, vice-president of Sarvajanika Sharadotsava Samiti, Mahesh Kotion, Prashanth Mayadi, Dayanand, secretary among others were present.
