Bangalore: BJP Top Brass Takes Stock of Yeddyurappa's Threat to Exit

Bangalore, Oct 2 (PTI): BJP central leaders Arun Jaitley and Dharmendra Pradhan held discussions with senior party figures from Karnataka today on former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's demand to make him the State President or face the prospect of his exit from the party.

Yeddyurappa left for his home town of Shikaripura in Shimoga district last night to attend a "pre-arranged" function, making it clear he has no intention of meeting Jaitley, a move seen in some quarters as a "snub" to the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha.

State BJP President K S Eshwarappa and Deputy Chief Minister R Ashoka met the two leaders last night. Eshwarappa briefed Jaitley and Pradhan, who is in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka, about Yeddyurappa's repeated outbursts against the party.

In recent weeks, Yeddyurappa had openly attacked BJP central highcommand, even accused the party President Nitin Gadkari of not honouring his promise of making him the state party chief in no time after he quit as Chief Minister more than a year ago.

The state BJP strongman was particularly seething in anger after the party stripped his loyalists Ayanur Manjunath and V Dhananjaya Kumar of their positions as spokespersons.

Jaitley declined to talk to reporters at the party office after he elicited the opinion of BJP leaders on the Yeddyurappa issue. Some of them told him that Yeddyurappa would leave the party if he is not given the post.

"BJP is likely to ask Yeddyurappa to come to Delhi for talks shortly", a party source said. Karnataka has 28 Lok Sabha seats, and the BJP can ill-afford to lose a resourceful Yeddyurappa, who has promised that under his leadership, it would bag 20, party sources said.

On the other hand putting Yeddyurappa on the party saddle again means antagonising the anti-Yeddyurappa camp, which could trigger fresh wave of factionalism. Elections in Karntaka are due in May. Yeddyurappa has said he would wait till December before taking a call on continuing in the party or parting ways.

Meanwhile, sections of BJP sought to downplay Jaitley's visit, saying he came to the city to witness the final match of the Hockey India League Championship as guest of honour. Jaitley is a board member of the League.

Way to Exit?

Yadiyurappa is 100% sure to exit from BJP. It is just a matter of time. RSS has already asked top brass to show him the door. But they want Yaddy to go out himself so that Yaddy will not get sympathy votes, and Yaddy wants BJP high command to Push him out so that he can garner sympathy votes.
Even Congress cannot rejoice, because its house is also in shambles and severe infighting is going on between Parameshwar, Shyamanoor, Siddaramaiah, and V.Moily playing his own game so that he can come back as CM if Cong gets majority in next election.

YEDDY IS JUST BLACMAILING BJP AND NOW THE TOP BRASS WILL MAKE HIM THE PRESIDENT TO SAVE THEIR GOVERNMENT IN KARNATAKA. THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE END. GADKARI HAS NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE AS HE IS SPINELESS AND HE HAS BOWED SO FAR FOR WHAT YEDDY WANTED. THE BJP HIGH COMMAND HAS NO POWER AND NO VOICE. WHEN YEDDY WAS TOLD TO STEP DOWN HE STEPPED DOWN ONLY AFTER SADANANADA GOWDA HIS MAN WAS MADE THE CM. YEDDY WANTED GOWDA OUT WITHIN 11 MONTHS AND WANTED SHETTAR TO BE THE CM AND HE WAS ALSO MADE. SO EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING AS PER YEDDY'S WISHES AND WILL HAPPEN ALSO TILL BJP IS IN POWER. SHAME ON BJP NATIONAL LEADERS AND SPECIALLY THE PRESIDENT GADKARI.

Popular candidates contesting independently or forming caste-based regional parties is the most remunerative political gimmick because in horse-trading, the stakes run into crores because Karnataka is in shambles with neither BJP or Congress is expected to get majority. Lucky Yeddy, knows both the trade and tricks of the trade and crores will come in chappar phadke one way or other.

Dear readers, don't you think why BJP High Command is hesitant to take action against Yeddy eventhough he is blackmailing and threatening BJP. Why Yeddi threatens & blackmails without fear ? Dhaal mein kutch kaala hai. The master's weakness is in Yeddi's hand. Is it China visit of Guru & Chela ?

Well said Ceraj. Minimum qualification to be set for the candidates who wish to contest the election. They also should be free from criminal cases and with a clean record. Otherwise Monkeys will be our leaders and we will fight each other while they enjoy at our cost.

BJP Top Brass start feel some kind of pinch on yeddyurappa's threat to exit.As my earlier comments it is the time for do or die situation for Yeddi, a trick he played nicely started to yield the results!. One way BJP doesnot want to lose the power and another side Yeddi doesnot want to lose his grip on the CM post. It is a high time for both sides a give and take business. In politics everything is possible, just watch what congress is to say here after?. My very strong guess Yeddi never leave BJP or he never join any other parties too!.

Mr. Jeevan, now that your comments makes sense. Yes, we all keep high hope on our leaders for development in all fields and let every Indian live in pride and in peace. However, these shameless leaders (doesn't matter belongs to which party) are trying to fool us and loot us/country more than what they could digest. If every Indian keep aside religion (which is their weapon to fool common men) and fight against corrupt leaders Indian can be paradise.

Eddy spent almost all his life time fighting in the opposition. Because of his hard work and RSS hindutva agenda he formed a first time ever BJP government in Karnataka. He is thrown out by his own people who once bent and saluted him.Now the high command is worried again because if Eddy takes a serious step then the entire BJP face of Karnataka will change. All other sharks from JDS and Congress are waiting and watching with a healthy bait to fish him out at a right time. Bigger the bait so healthy will be the catch.
