Mangalore, Oct 3: Koragappa Naik of Ujire constituency and Rithesh Shetty of Bajpe constituency have been unanimously elected as the president and vice-president of DK zilla panchayat. The elections for the the second term were held on Wednesday October 3.

Their term will last from October 8, 2012 to June 7, 2014.


Koragappa Naik

The nomination was received well before 11 am on Wednesday. The president's post was reserved for backward class 'B'. 
 
Mysore division regional commissioner M V Jayanthi conducted the proceedings. However, as no contestant from the opposition Congress party was in fray, it was a cake walk for the winners.
 
Koragappa Naik, born in the year 1969 in Adkadakere of Kadirudyavara, is a bachelor. After completing his PU education in Beltangady Junior College, he was guided by Prabhakar Shenoy to join RSS. Hailing from a poor family, he made his living by distributing newspapers in his early days. He became a BJP activist in the year 1992 and continued to work with various organizations like Lamp Society, Mundaje Yuvaka Mandala, CA Bank, Parashurama temple Sanyasikatte and others.
 
Newly elected vice president Rithesh Shetty, a 1971 born is a BA graduate. He is the former president of Bajpe Navachethana Yuvaka Mandala and joint secretary of Porkody Shree Somanatheshwara temple Brahma Kalashothsava Samithi.
 
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP Leader Padmanabha Kottari, MLC Monappa Bhandary, Congress member in ZP M S Mohammed, BJP member Santhosh Kumar Rai, ZP outgoing president K T Shailaja Bhat, outgoing vice-president Dhanalaxmi Janardhan Gowda among others wished both the president and vice-president.
 

Kottari recalls Congress support to 'one-man show'
 
Interestingly, while greeting the elected representatives, BJP leader Padmanabha Kottari said that during 2000-2004, he was the lone BJP candidate in the zilla panchayat. "Congress members had extended great support to me at that time and the same should resume in the case of the new president and vice-president," he said.

His statement was welcomed by the Congress members with a round of applause.

    ZP and TP have become powerless since BJP is ruling the state. No developmental works processed in the entire year 2011-2012.The elected members made only public appearances because now and then changes of chief ministers and state home ministers.

    Congrats Rithesh D Shetty. Bajpe-Mudarguttu members are proud of you. But work honestly and do good developmental work for Bajpe. Keep away from your relative Nagaraj Shetty who recently deserted your BJP Party.

    Congrats Mr Koragappa Naik and Rithesh Shety of Bjape on being crowned as DK ZP.President and V. President respectively.Welcome factors of both are,worked in local Yuvaka Mandalas which gives the foundation stone for social work that could be continued in power politics also.Both are social workers and they may commit to service to the society.GOOD LUCK

    Almost in all Districts, Zilla, Taluk or Panchayat Elections BJP gained everywhere. Congress sometimes not fielding Candidates even!!! Very surprising to see that everybody hates BJP Party but secretly everyone votes or support BJP too. It is very difficult to predict which Party will come to power in next elections. BJP is still so popular in spite of planned and systematic attack by Anti-Hindu Elements and by few Medias too?

    Hearty Congratulations to our anna bonds Koragappa Naik and Rithesh Shetty. Both are well qualified and experienced. Their victory is a boon to Dakshina Kannada.

    BJP's strength lies in grass-root level workers, not with a leader. Whoever is CM/MLA/MP/ZP candidate, BJP will win. Development is the only agenda of BJP.

    On the other hand, congress white wash has begun in coastal and rest of the state. Our proud art "Yakshagana" is diminishing day by day. Congis should join yakshagana as they are good in acting. BJP Govt will support them.
