Dear abdul satter and other readers
Speed breakers will not help people and driver on this road. Most of the time a new vehicle and new driver, if sign is not proper then speeding vehicle will overturn and may kill more people. This road is highway ,what we need here is underpass or overhead crossing to public. How much money public pays as road tax when they register their car.Where the money goes.I am sure it is not going to the road or road development,It goes to politician pocket.Any way sorry for the family as they lost their loved one. This will continue for next generation, may be things will change after 100 years.Ji hind

These incidents are still continued, our government is so cheap that they do not know the values of life. Who gives the permission for these buses to drive so rashly. Our great government.. So public we need to hit stones to the government who is the root cause of these incidents and not the bus. My heartfelt condolences to the family which is destroyed with the storm in seconds.

I serveral time instructed to government put the speed breaker in dangerous zone near Kazi Tower (DKSC)Al Ahsan School Moolur where we saw thremendous accidents, near Vidya Niketan School(students are awaiting to bus) , near Polip Dargah Sharif and near Pangal bridge and all other dangerous zone where we are daily looking dangerous accident, where the drivers of buses were unconsious by drinking country liquour and driving roughly that seems that they operating a flight in the air having back support of the owners of the bus company like durgamba ( this durgamba bus before one week killed people in Moolur ) and other many pvt busses. So it is my suggestion also cancel the licence of these dangerous companies and instruct the government buses driver to follow the rules of the road because they also very rough in the road. Finally hang this driver in front of the public who takes the life of innocents of one family. I appreciate the sudden arrival of CI of kaup and his team. I also appreciate M.A. Gafoor , Devi Prasad and Mendon to rushed to the spot to control the situation. Daiji please remind the government to put speed breaker in the dangerous zone.

Its high time to stop private buses and start KSRTC.
These private buses are death agents not only to pedestrians, but also to smaller vehicles, bikes.
To make train acess easier by increasing the railway station and also increasing number of trains
The public should be encouraged to use government buses and trains.
Rash drivers should be fines on spot

Dear sir it is actually I think its not the fault of driver or its owner because such a type of timings given by RTO,may also be one of the reason for the accident.so public should strictly comment against those RTO permitting such 1 or 2 min gap. IF there is a good gap of 4 or 5 min b/n each bus there will be no competitions and our lives will be secured better.

Mr. Ajith Mangalore: You have posted comments asking someone to file RTI to know how many passengers killed in one year by Private Buses between Kundapur and Kasargod. Why do you ask others to do it when you can do it by yourself? You are equally capable of filing a RTI to know the facts and take the lead rather than asking others do it?

Very pathetic and tragic to note the number of fatalities on NH66 due to rash driving. A time has come the bubble has to burst. The Road Transport Authorities has to act on this immediately. The road permits of Durgamba and SNDP should be ceased immediately, no doubt how much they are supportive (Corrupt) with the authorities, no matter how much political support these transport companies have. Killer services on this route should be stopped immediately. People cannot sustain anymore, it is high time please think law makers.

Dear Readers: It is pity that three lives are lost. May their soul rest in peace.
At the same time, I do not support the rash driving of buses but people are equally responsible to watch the traffic while crossing and to maintain safe distance from the road as it is NATIONAL HIGHWAY NO.66 and NOT a Village Road. Many a times, the Road Users expect the Motorist to take care of the them rather than they take care of themselves while using the roads and crossing. I have been driving for the last 32 years and specially 15 years in the undivided Dakshina Kannada District and it is a harrowing experience to drive in the State of Karnataka. I HAVE SEEN THE ANIMALS HAVE BETTER ROAD AND TRAFFIC SENSE THAN HUMAN BEINGS.
I request all the Motorists to be careful while driving and road users to be careful while using the road, so that our actions do not bring miseries to the themselves, their families and others knowingly or unknowingly. Once the Life Lost can not be brought back whether the fault is of the Motorists or Road users.

Dear people, all buses flying from Mangalore to Udupi have very strict timing. If a bus reaches one minute late to a bus stand it cannot take people from that particular bus stand. therefore poor drivers fly the bus. Infact many drivers refuse drive buses in that root because of speed, timing. please add 30 minutes extra to the buses flying in that root. drivers will be peaceful. passengers will be safe. Then only they will learn that they are riding the passengers behind them and not animals..... The only solution is authorities must not deal such cases so lighly as if we don't need human beings on earth. If this is taken lighly, we can be the one of the victims.....

Bus drivers believe that “Freedom of Speed” is enshrined in the constitution and they are the James Bond’s of the roads who are licensed to Kill. Most bus drivers of the express buses on Mangalore/Udupi/Manipal sector think that the roads are a formula one race track for them to practice their racing skills. The bus passengers are either too scared or too dumb to protest against such dangerous driving and sit like rats. The RTO & Police are unable to take strict action against such reckless drivers as their pockets are adequately greased by the big transport operators. May the Good Lord Give strength and courage to the family members of the deceased to overcome this terrible tragedy.

Even though the bus is coming from the wrong direction, it is a pedestrians duty to be careful and be at least 3 feet away from the road. Cross only when you are comfortable with the distance of vehicles approaching. This attentiveness needs to be manifold when with family.
