Udupi: Thieves Break into Jewellery Store at Kaup

Udupi, Oct 5: Ornaments worth Rs 30,000 were stolen from a jewellery store at Kaup town, here.

The theft came to light when the owner of Mahadevi Jewellers, Govinda Acharya, arrived at his store in the morning. As he entered the store, he found the things scattered around the place.

On examining he found that the thieves entered the store by drilling a hole through the wall and decamped with 6 grams of gold and 200 grams of silver.

Canine squad and finger print experts arrived at the spot. Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon visited the spot and directed the police to take immediate action.

Kapu circle inspector, Shivanand Valekha, sub inspector, Archana examined the place and registered the case. Investigation is on.
