LPG Price Hiked by Rs 11.42 per Cylinder

NEW DELHI, Oct 6 (TOI): The price of cooking gas (LPG) has been hiked by Rs 11.42 per cylinder following government decision to raise commission paid to dealers.

Earlier this week, Indian oil marketing firms increased non-subsidised cooking gas prices by 17% to Rs 877.5 per cylinder and have decided to revise the retail selling price of the 14.2-kg non-subsidised domestic LPG cylinder every month based upon the international LPG prices.

Consumers will be forced to cough up more than double the subsidised cooking gas prices as the government has restricted the supply of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders at six cylinders per annum with effect from September 14.

Nearly a quarter of the citizens have utilized subsidized gas cylinders genuinely for purely domestic purposes.
There are houses no gas stove, no gas cylinders but in their account with the agent monthly, monthly gas/cylinders have been consumed.
Many of the rural area people have not even used 5 gas cylinders a year but to see in the agency more than 12-20 gas cylinders were consumed.

Money is coming to them from hoteliers or from auto-rickshaws or from the taxi fellows in lump sum.

There are plenty of people who buy costly gold for their pleasure and when it comes to a domestic necessity
They cry aloud saying have no money and cry to buy gas in the open market.
The entire subsidy to gas must be stopped.
There are people drink and drench gas.
They should drink and drench price hiked Milk of Nandini of the Karnataka government.
Milk is a domestically available and this bjp government has increased the price of milk 3 times in its 4th year.
These supporters of bjp have no shame.
They are fit to watch porn in the assembly.

Instead of subsidizing the LPG, government should announce grants for Research and Development of solar powered cookers/stoves. Necessity is the mother of invention.

There is nothing wrong in increasing price of LPG. The LPG users has increased in numbers for the last ten years and the production does not increase as per the demand. The employee demands salary increase else Bandh or Strike, who will bear the loss to the companies or Govt. It is we bear it. Recently there was strike by KSRTC employees for salary and you see the fare increased. Compare vehicles on road now with 10 years back. Fees of school, books price. If the price of a motor bike increase by rupees, still people will afford for it. Why ?. Now a days people are ready to pay for comforts and Luxuries but they are not ready to pay for necessities.

The subsidy should be phased out at the earliest.
Domestic LPG cylinder for any bottling plant should be calculated on import parity basis, taking into account international prices prevailing thus, in addition to the Government subsidy, oil PSUs should not share the burden of subsidising domestic LPG.
The BPL should get direct benefits and over all uplifting and please don’t suppress them with only subsidy but no growth.

No political party can reduce or provide cheaper gas or fuel.
Blaming and fighting each other, further victimizes the common man, with increased pain.
Instead, positive steps (like improvement in buying power of common man, alternate energy options) to be taken to face the imbalanced (increased demand and scarce supply)situation.

We should stop buying LPG cylinders and start using the induction cookers, then see how the prices of cylinders comes down automatically to normal. Infact the government itself will start begging to buy these LPG cylinders.
