28 Militants Killed in Afghanistan


Kabul, Oct 7 (IANS): Twenty-eight Taliban militants were killed in overnight operations by the security forces in Afghanistan, the interior ministry said Sunday.

The police in collaboration with the army and the coalition forces killed the militants in over half a dozen provinces, Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying.

Operations were carried out in Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kapisa, Kunduz, Faryab, Wardak, Ghazni and Paktika provinces.

Thirteen militants were arrested and their weapons were seized.
