Mangalore: Youth Meet Conducted at Shakthinagar Church

Mangalore, Oct 10: ‘Yuva Milan’- a one-day youth meet was conducted at Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar on October 7.

The inaugural programme was graced by the parish priest, Fr Walter D’souza; resource person Richard Alvares; vice-president of the church committee, Dennis Machado; animator of ICYM, Vincent Dsouza and president of ICYM Vineeth Monis.



















 


The chief guest for the day Fr Walter D’souza along with the other dignitaries began the programme with the lighting of the lamp. In his speech, Fr Walter delivered the message of for the youth to get a strong foothold in their faith.

“Faith is a relationship”, he said, adding that the stronger a relationship with God and oneself, the stronger will be the faith.

Richard Alvares advised the youth to concentrate more on building better relationships with their families. He spoke about the importance of families being together.

A debate was conducted among two groups of the audience where the topic of discussion was, love marriage or arranged marriage.
After a short lunch break, the meet resumed with a session of entertainment, games and a quiz which was promptly conducted by Reena D’souza and Raina D’souza. The games were conducted with four teams contesting against each other.

Sony Rodrigues compered the programme; Vineeth Monis welcomed the gathering while Glevina Carlo delivered the vote of thanks.

Fr Ronald D’souza, diocese ICYM director; Arun D’souza, ex- president city vardo ICYM and Johnson D’souza, ex-secretary, city vardo of ICYM among others were present at the meet.
