Mangalore : SJEC Hosts Joshiana 3.0 National Level IT Fest

Mangalore, Oct 10: MCA department student association “The Technocrats” - of St Joseph Engineering College, organized  Joshiana 3.0, a 2 day National Level IT Fest for the students of MCA, MS and BE (CS & IS)  on 5th and  6th  Oct 2012.















Naren Koduvattat, Founder and Managing Director, i-Point Consulting Services Pvt Ltd, Mangalore, was the Chief Guest.  Fr Joseph J Lobo, Director SJEC, presided over the function.  Fr. Rohit D’Costa, Assistant Director SJEC, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal SJEC, Dr. Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal/Dean-MCA, Ragesh Raju, Staff Coordinator, Sharoon D’Cunha, Secretary and Shruthi M were the dignitaries present on the dais.  Sudheer Kumar, 3rd year MCA, former President of Technocrats, welcomed the dignitaries and the participants.   Joshiana 3.0 was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

Sharoon D’cunha, Secretary of Technocrats, briefed the gathering about the events scheduled for two days.  Mr. Naren Koduvattat, Chief Guest,  in his address mentioned that the students should use this opportunity as a platform to exchange ideas and knowledge. Talking about the tagline of the fest, Rising “Torrents” of Technology, he enlightened the gathering about the IT field by sharing his work experiences.
The fest comprised of 12 events namely - Ice Breaker, Coding, Application Development, Image and Video Editing, IT Quiz, JAM, Gaming (NFS & CS), Paper Presentation, Mad Ads, Web Designing, Culturals and Best Manager. A total of 18 teams from various colleges took active part in all the events.

The valedictory of Joshiana 3.0 took place on Saturday 6th October at 4.30 pm. Rev. Fr. Ajith B Menezes, Assistant Director SJEC, presided over the ceremony.   The participants were honoured with  participation certificates and the winners of the individual events were honoured with trophies.

National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal won the Runners Up trophy.  Whereas the Overall Champions Trophy was bagged by St. Aloysius Institute of Management and IT (AIMIT), Beeri, Mangalore.  The trophies were handed over by the dignitaries present at the Valedictory Function

    I visited to some other countries. But i didn't find the discipline, sincerity, enthusiasm and curiosity with students of other countries like our students. India is great - because of it's well talented Human resources. God bless you Students.
