Udupi: Nethra Jyothi Charitable Trust Celebrates World Sight Day

Udupi, Oct 11: The Nethra Jyothi Charitable trust of Prasad Nethralaya celebrated the ‘World Sight Day’ here on Thursday October 10.

World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October mainly to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment.


As a part of the awareness drive, a procession was organized from Jodukatte till Prasad Nethralaya.

The procession was flagged off by MLA K Raghupathi Bhat.

Hundreds of enthusiastic students from various colleges including students from scouts, NSS and South Kanara photographers Association (SKPA) members of Udupi and Kapu zone participated in the rally.

Dr Boralingaih MB, IPS superintendent of police, Basrur Rajeev Shetty, vice chairman of Red Cross society, Vasudev rao, president of SKPA, Udupi among others were present.
