he was a gentleman business person, he is not only a business man, but also he gave an ample opportunity to make earning especially to a south kanara women who can work independently at home by way of beedi rolling cum labeling. Without his venture, most of our literally weaker women would have worked as slavery type without any integrity or earnings. Hats off to your great leadership and
it should be continued ever with your memory still..... May his soul rest in peace

Ismail K Perinje gave the right tribute..""LAKSHANTRA JANAGALA ANNADAATHA""" I know many families who earned lively hood by working from home packing the beedies.

To RSK Karkala, 30 brand beedies..the number 30 represents the year of establishment of the brand..1930, I haven't heard about the Rs.30 story..perhaps that is a coincidence too or other way round.

It is very sad to hear the news. His family itself is a 'Annadata Family', which has given livelihood to many. It is with the support and help of this Great Family we, Sri Ramanath V. Shenoy's family had bread and we, the children had our education, livelihood and now in comfortable position. We, the children of Sri Ramanath V. Shenoy, pray Lord Srinivas and Lord Venkataramana of Karkala to rest the departed soul of 'Gampanna'in eternal peace and bestow enough strength to his bereaved family to bear the loss and to his children to carry on bidi business to further greater heights as per foreparents' wish. Sad to know the death of Mr. Pai, once Bharath beed was bread winner for millions across South Kanara and nearby places, news is incomplete without mentioning the birth place of this organisation, it is Karkala and they started the business with Rs.30 as capital, no. 30 represents that. Great ! God bless every in the family.

Bharath Bidi Works Chairman Ganapathi Pai would be remembered as an excellent organizer of human resources.
Tobacco products of course do not promote health
However, if we search for goodness in a person, his organizing skills, fair wages practices, livelihood for rural unemployed do not find parallels of his times.
Great personality. May his soul rest in peace.

Ganesh and Bharath Beedies have International presence too , starting from obscure villages in D.K. district and that too decades ago! Compare it with the 'furore' about FDI in retail today! Yes- where there's a will there's a way and the pioneers in the Beedi Industry here had shown the path.May Sri Pai's soul rest in peace.
