Kasargod, Oct 12: Unable to bear the torture from his father, a 15-year-old boy from Kolar escaped from home and has reached Kasargod. He is now undergoing treatment in a general hospital.

The boy has been identified as Shiva (15), son of Krishnappa and Manjula from Maloor in Kolar.

Shiva has burnt marks on his body, indicating the torture at the hands of his father.

On October 7, police caught hold of the boy and when interrogated, he is said to have revealed his story.

Sources said that the boy boarded a train and reached Kasargod.

On interrogation, the boy said that he was being tortured daily by his alcoholic father. He would even torture his wife if she intervened. Unable to bear the physical abuse, he is said to have boarded the train to Kasargod.

The boy has now been handed over to the childline and is undergoing treatment. The childline officials said that the boy will be handed over to the relatives once he recovers.
