Kundapur: Pillion Rider Critically Injured in Bus-Bike Collision

Kundapur, Oct 13: A woman was critically injured in an accident between a bus and a bike near Koteshwar here on Friday October 12.

The injured has been identified as Malathi (25) of Janatha colony, who was riding pillion with Shashikumar (21), resident of Bharathkal near TT Road.

The accident took place when the bus (KA 20 A 2858), plying from Hebri to Kundapur rammed into the bike just when Shashikumar was turning on to the main road near Koteshwar. 

Shashikumar and Malathi were coming from Koni. Due to the impact of accident both were thrown off the bike.

Soon after the accident, locals went to their rescue and admitted the critically injured Malathi to Manipal hospital. Later she was shifted to Adarsh hospital in Udupi.

Shashikumar is said to have escaped with minor injuries. He is undergoing treatment in NR Acharya hospital, Koteshwar.

The duo were said be concrete workers and the incident took place when they came out for lunch.

A case has been registered in the Kundapur police station.
