Mangalore, Oct 15:
B Nagaraj Shetty who joined JD(S) recently, has been offered the post of state vice-president and the party’s official intimation letter in this regard was handed over to him by senior leader of the party Amarnath Shetty.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday October 15, M B Sadashiva, JD(S) district president said that recently joined B Nagaraj Shetty has started a current and with his admission into the party, many party workers have been actively taking part in strengthening the party at the grassroot level.

"Hence state president of JD(S) H D Kumarswamy has sent a letter offering Nagaraj Shetty the post of state vice-president of the party. This was not demanded by Shetty, but was given as an honour to him to guide the party," he said.

He also said that there will be a party programme on October 29 to be held at Town Hall wherein various leaders will be joining JD(S).

Various cells in the party will be dissolved and reunited again, a high-level committee has been formed to reorganize the party cells, he said. "Very soon the district committee of the party will also be re-constructed. This decision has been taken by the state committee," he said.

Speaking on the occasion B Nagaraj Shetty reiterated that he would not contest in the elections and he did not demand any post in the party too. "It was a surprise for me when I was offered the post of the state vice-president," he said and added, "Though I had promised that I would not demand any post in the party, I must accept the offer made by the state committee of the party."

He said that he would continue to work towards strengthening the party and called upon the party workers to work in unison.

Chaos

Even as M B Sadashiva went on to announce that the state committee had decided to dissolve various cells of the district unit of the party, D M Aslam, president, district minority cell of JD(S) interrupting the press conference alleged that people who are not active in the party activities are given priority in the committee to form and reconstruct the cells.

"This is a self proclaimed committee and the district president M B Sadashiva should resign", he demanded.

There are very good comments for this article many gave correct opinion about Nagaraja Shetty. He is not fit to win any elctions and his sweet tongue will not last for long time those people of Bantwal already gave their mandate to him in the last election. He is trader that's why he has links with HDK his interest is on his business. During last elections he made good money in betting itself. No surprise if he is not contesting elections since he know very well that JDS will not win any seats in twin districts. If JDS forms governement with support of other party Shetty will become MLC and Minsiter in JDS supported government.

BJP has its strong base in DK the real fight is between Congress and BJP but those RSS and sanga parivar workers are controlled by Prabhakar Bhat who is the major cause of BJP downfall in district. It is very unfortunate that none of our leaders from DK and Udupi are contributed much to our distrcit. This includes congress, BJP and JDS represented very little. They are busy in filling their pockets and pulling the legs of each other. Voters should the candidates like HSS ( Halady Srinivas Shetty). He is only politician has some morality and true representative of public.

In Batwal the contest would be between CM Ibrahim of INC and Padmanabha Kottari of BJP. A easy win to BJP.

    People,

Winning an elections is difficult, but defeating anybody is not so diffiult.

So who are primary voters of JDS and whose votes Nagaraj Shetty will take , time will tell.

If Nagaraj Shetty could not win last assembly election from Bantwal from BJP ticket, no way he could win from JDS ticket this time... could he get enough votes to defeat BJP candidate,,, possible but not probable.

I think he must have been enticed by HDK through his business connections,,, I dont think Nagaraj Shettys decision is more a business decision and less a political wise decisiion.

However I wish him all the best in his new party.

    Jai Hoooooooooooooooooooooooo
