This year the format of Dassara of Mysore has been changed a lot as per the instructions of Dist Incharge Minister - Ramdass.
Earlier Mysore Dasara was only Cultural event, without much Religious colour.
This year it is completely a Religious event with Bhajans, Keertans, Rasa-Leela, etc.

yes Previously the Mysore dasara was celebrated very well. I have attended the celebration more than 6 six times yes the crowd is more. but if compared to the earlier celebration now there no much lightnings and that festive crowd is not there. i felt the Mangalore city as been decorated far more better than Mysore. And i really enjoy the Dasara in Mangalore. and dasara is a festival so i don't include political party in that
