Jawahar Sequeira Elected President of Melbourne Konkan Community

Melbourne (Australia), Oct 16: Jawahar (Joe) Sequeira was elected the president of Melbourne Konkan Community during the first annual general body meeting held recently.


New office-bearers from left - Anvil D'Silva (vice-president), Jawahar (Joe) Sequeira (president), Dolly Cutinho (secretary), Fr Prakash Cutinha (spiritual director) and Austin Carvalho (treasurer)

Outgoing office-bearers (president - Valerian Menezes, secretary - Stany Martis and treasurer - Jossy Fernandes) were thanked for their fantastic work in establishing the Melbourne Konkan Community and for the successful organisation of the Monthi Fest Event 2012.

Members who put in the hard work in making the event a success were also thanked, together with those who attended and participated in the Monthi Fest celebration and provided their valuable feedback.


The new office-bearers elected for 2012-13 are:

President - Jawahar (Joe) Sequeira
Vice-President - Anvil D'Silva
Secretary - Dolly Cutinho
Treasurer - Austin Carvalho
Cultural secretary - Manoj D'Silva (proposed)
Media secretary - Sunil D'Souza
Social activities secretary - Philomena Fernandes
