There is nothing fishy about expired passport. The college should have normalised his visa & passport status. Schools in UAE do. Foreign students are not criminals. Mr.John Tauro's racial comment & the photograph of the student should not have been published.

Foreign students, especially from African countries must be strictly watched. Most of them do not intend to return after the expiry of their visas or completion of their studies. Further they get involved in various illegal and criminal activities which can adversely affect on our own students.

Its usual to have 'Visa Expiry' but having an expired Passport is something fishy. Surely he got a fake Passport and has no supporting documents to renew it. But, how come he is a student still ? Is he really studying or a student for namesake ?
