Khurshid Dares Kejriwal to Stage protest in Farrukhabad

New Delhi, Oct 17 (PTI): In a clear challenge to Arvind Kejriwal, Law Minister Salman Khurshid has dared him to stage a protest in his constituency Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh and said "let him also return from Farrukhabad".

At a closed-door function here last night whose footage was aired by some news channels, Khurshid said, "I have been made the Law Minister and asked to work with the pen. I will work with the pen but also with blood."

Apparently referring to Kejriwal's threat to stage a protest in his home constituency from November 1, the senior Congress leader said, "Let them come to Farrukhabad and visit Farrukhabad. But let him also return from Farrukhabad."

Khurshid, whose NGO Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust has been accused by Kejriwal of financial bunglings, said, "They say we will ask questions and you have to give the answers. We say you hear the answers and forget about asking questions."

Kejriwal saw the comments as a death threat to him.
"Mr Salman Khurshid has threatened me. The kind of language which he has used, it does not suit the stature of country's Law Minister," the activist said.

"Killing me won't help because the country has been awakened. If one Arvind is killed, there will be another 100 Arvind. Rather than threatening like this, it would be better that Congress sensed the anger of people and took some concrete steps against corruption," he said.

Khurshid was accompanied by his wife Louise and several other supporters during the programme.

Jude, Unless there is RTI nobody would have known these corrupt practices of Khurshid, Gadkari, Vadra etc. At the sametime safety of RTI activists is first. I didnt knew being a common man is a crime in India as it is evident in your style of arguement.

Uday Shetty, I am posing the same question to you. How can you let a demogogue dictate his terms on a nation? Anyone he accuses is corrupt and anyone whom he deems innocent is innocent. Who is he to accuse and also judge people. I am not justifying Kurshid's statement. I personally feel that he has been misunderstood. He is only telling Kejriwal that since he has taken the fight to the streets he too would follow suit.

Ratnakar and Richard, please do not feel sorry for me. I am only advising caution. Here the road seems beautiful and therefore I am deeply worried about the destination. Guys like you are creating a demagogue in Kejriwal. I am not saying he is wrong today or Kurshid is wrong, but you guys are just believing in a Kejriwal and have already convicted Kurshid without due legal process. You say let Kurshid file defamation cases against Kejriwal. He has already done so. Therefore be patient until he is legally acquitted or convicted. Hitler showed a beautiful road to the gullible Germans and see how cruel the destination was.In Iran the people wanted the Shah out and they threw him out and see what Iran is today. Today majority of the Iranians cry and yearn for the years of the Shah. Therefore my humble advice to you guys is do not jump at conclusions. Have the patience to hear everyone out, question and analyze everyone, give everyone a fair chance to defend themselves and only then decide. Do not let a Kejriwal, a Kurshid, a Modi, or a Sonia Gandhi to decide for you and do not get led to your doom by another pied piper.

It is unfortunate that the law of the land does not support a law minister to prove his innocence. And at the same time gives all freedom to a lay man to raise allegations at any level from any corner without even proving them at any level. The Kejariwal team found NGO applicants who were present at the camps and not allotted the instruments due to technical reasons. There could be many people with the same name who might have received the benefits at said camp.
But kejariwal stick to one agenda where he designs the questions himself and insist the witness to reply only to his questions and no other explanations from them. We have our own people from Mangalore who are not paid their salaries even after the Sc ask the state government to pay them with interest, then why we have to raise the issue of the Union Law minister.

A person like Mr. Kejriwal alleges of wrong doings and not willing to file case against the alleged person i find fault entirely on Mr. Kejriwal.

Concerning to Mr. Kurshid, he has the right to defend alegations whether truth or false.

The truth is Kejriwal's new party wanted to get name and fame for his party to contest in the forth coming elections.
DO A PERSON REQUIRED A PARTY TO FIGHT FOR CORRUPTION???!!! IT IS UNIMAGINABLE.

Mr.Salman Kurshid seemed to be a polished politician, but now it seems the polish is withering away with his unpolished speech. Its a pity that the Law minister has to use such 'filmy' words. What is in the heart comes out of the mouth it seems, and holds good for Mr. Khurshid. Violence is the trend of today and it seems that India is having GoondaRaj. Surely the politicians are seeped in the arrogance of power.

I feel Salman Khurshid being the law minister seems to think that he is above the law nd can say or utter any nonsense. Why does sonia not admonish him for his outrageous remarks. I only can say that this Upa2 Govt. has been the most corrupt and arrogant govt. that India has had after 65 years of independence. Instead of fighting corruption they r hell bent on defending coruption nd the corrupt. Jai Hind. Jai Mr. Kejriwal and the new breed of honest politicians shud over take the present governing of India to free it from the cluthes of the old corrupt politiicians and their nexus

Mr. Khurshid must be forgotten that he is a law minister of a so called democratically elected government of the largest democracy. Let him touch Kejriwal and be ready for the consequences. I am sure he will be politically finished ( 50% already finished)the day he undertake this misadventure!. Regarding Mr. Jude's comments I feel pity on him. Why so many people support Kejriwal and only few people like jude thinks otherwise? Please ask Khurshid to lodge defamation case against Krjriwal and conduct independent enquiry on his NGO.

A person holding position as Law Minister of a large democratic country and talk in such a way is totally shameful and unacceptable. What Congress Chairperson is doing? Has she heard or read the great threatening remarks of this Khurshid?

Kejriwal deserves to get such threats. He thinks he is God and I see him as the next Hitler. He has managed to fool a lot of people who simply refuse to sit back think, analyze and question his rhetoric and blindly swallow whatever rubbish he says. Most of his allegations have a lot of loopholes. He has to understand that it takes years and years of public service to gain respect and honour, but just a few minutes for someone to destroy it. Therefore it is high time that Kejriwal tones down his nonsense and fights legally and exposes the corrupt instead of shamelessly calling press conferences and hurling blind accusations in front of the media. Today a social activist has accused his chamcha Mayank Gandhi of land grabbing in Bombay. Let him first solve that problem. People living in glass houses should not throw stones at others.
