Dubai: Attackers Malpe Lift Mogaveera Premier League Cricket Cup

Dubai, Oct 17: 'Mogaveera Cup-2012' - Mogaveera's Premier League - IV version match was held at Zabeel Park recently with 10 teams. The match started sharp at 8.30 am with a prayer and then the inauguration was done by Vinod Kanchan, vice-president of Mogaveers UAE, along with Soman Puthran, a guest from Bangalore.
A large number of Mogaveers UAE members participated in this match. The day was full of fun and frolic, with sumptuous lunch in the afternoon followed by Tambola games in between.
The participating teams were:
Royal Tigers UAE, Vande Matharam, Mogaveera Uppala, Star Cricketers, Attackers Malpe, Yuvaka Mandal Yermal, Mogaveers Hejmady, Abudhabi Mogaveers, United Mogaveers and Bengre Vidyarthi Sangha.
The winners were Attackers Malpe while Mogaveers Hejmady bagged the runners-up spot.
Final Scores:
Attackers Malpe scored 80 runs in six overs and won comfortably by a margin of 55 runs.
Mogaveers Hejmady scored 25 runs in six overs.
1st semi-final match – Mogaveers Hejmady Vs Vandhe Matharam
2nd semi-final match – Royal Tiger Vs Attackers Malpe.

The entire cricket match was very well handled by Satish Karkera, Yashwind and team. Cricket commentary was ably done by Azeez, Abu Dhabi in Kannada and Hindi along with Ramesh and Vasanth. Special attraction of the day was Phili drum-beating dance by Subash, Deepak and Team.
All players as well as spectators were served with breakfast, tea, water, biscuits, Maaza Juice and delicious Mangalorean style lunch by Pingara Restaurant, Karama, Dubai.
The programme concluded at 8 pm with a vote of thanks for all sponsors and those who supported the event directly and indirectly and made it a success.
