Mangalore: MCC Team Extends Helping Hand to Needy

Mangalore, Oct 18: The distribution of hearing aids and wheel chairs for the differently abled, under the 3% scheme by the mayor, deputy mayor, commissioner, joint commissioner and all standing committee chairman and opposition party leaders was held on Wednesday, October 17 in the committee hall at the Mangalore city corporation.

A wheel chair worth Rs 5,500, hearing aids worth Rs 1,27,800 for three differently abled people, cash donation of Rs 25,673 for one person for a surgery and cash donation for six persons to support their house repair totally worth Rs 1,80,000 were done.

The total worth of help donated stands to be Rs 3,38,973.

Gulzar Banu, mayor, MCC; Harish K, commissioner, MCC; Srikanth Rao, joint commissioner; Premnath Shett, Bhaskar Chandra Shetty, chairman city development standing committee; Deepak Poojary, opposition party leader; Shantha R, ex-health standing committee chairman and others were present.
