Three Bar Girls Abducted, Gang-raped Near Bangalore

Bangalore, Oct 19 (IANS): Three bar girls in their twenties were allegedly gang-raped late Thursday at Bidadi near here by an unidentified group of eight men, a police official said Friday.

"We have registered a case under sections 363, 376 and 395 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the unidentified men after the three victims lodged a complaint with us earlier in the day about the alleged gang-rape," Ramanagaram Superintendent of Police Anupam Agarwal told IANS here.

The victims alleged that the gang barged into their rented house in Bidadi, 30 km from Bangalore, forcibly took them in a car to an unknown location and sexually assaulted them.

"The victims mentioned in the complaint that the incident occurred around Thursday midnight after they returned home from duty at Casino Bar and Restaurant in a Bangalore suburb. It is learnt that the accused followed them from the bar in a Maruti van and picked them up sparing the other five women in the house," Agarwal said.

Police formed a five-member team to investigate the case and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

"The victims have been referred to a government hospital for medical examination. We hope to crack the case in a day or two as we have some clues on the accused from their description given in the complaint by the victims," Agarwal said.

This is the second such incident within a week after a law student complained that she was allegedly raped by an eight-member gang in the Bangalore University campus on the city's outskirts late Saturday (Oct 13).

In Indian culture a woman willingly joining in a birthday celebration is a crime and against the our Indian culture but group of men abduction a helpless woman and gang raping them is justified in hindu vedike, rss, bajrang culture. If not why no jagruthi calling groups and not protesting against recent rape, gang rape and rape and murder crimes? The truth is these jagruthi groups like vedike, rss, ram sene and bajrang dal get a great chance to lay the hands on beautiful girls in the name of culture defense. At least ban these groups now they are only to disturb public peace, they ware western dress and call ban on western culture....how foolish!!

To be honest with you, I don't understand logic behind most of the comments in Daijiworld and agree and disagree buttons and their logical or illogical pressing....

Never mind some press it depending upon the "presumed" caste/religion of the commenter, some press it on their colour preference and some do more for magic and less for logic...

KRPrabhu, the people who protested against Morning Mist mischief are fed up with resultless protests. Under BJP rule, peaceful protests have no meanining. Also, people who protested in Belthangady are booked for protesting and demanding police action. Only protest and Samaveshas with hate filled speeches yield results under BJP rule. However, I am glad the animals involved in Morning Mist shameful incident are caged & hope will ever remain caged. Rape, murder, extortion, kidnapping etc. are the blessings of BJP rule because the leaders themselves are involved in such acts. Jai ho BJP.

Where are those members of the so called "Komu(Kama) Sauhardha Vedike, Jago Mangalore, the new self proclaimed progressive front, Mahila vedikes,a hoast of( more than a dozen)such newly born organisation those floated for protesting Mangalore's famous Morning Mist Homestay.I am astonished even in the case of Beltnagady's Sowjany rape/murder case has not any required protes by these "progressive thinkers" perhapes they might be thinking that the incident is not so muc important as of MMHS.
Rape, murder, gang rape of bar girls are not important but only beating the girls is the concern.
I realy wonder even the commentatos for MMHS issue have become dumb/blind now.Come on culture protestors!!!

@ concerned citizen , rome . Friend , it was certainly not a chavaunist comment by any angle. In india , if you file RTI ( right to information ) , you will find false and framed cases of rape are on rise. So please have your concern towards male victims too. The above incident is still under investigation , so one cannot blame anyone right now. Marital rape clause is not in india , some europian and far western countries have. But it was highly controversial , as most often its been used a tool to abuse husbands who refute expectations. A call girl can easily frame clients ,say , if she gets less money than expected. Misandry is on rise. Thanks to feminists.

Don't think that only in Karnataka we are witnessing all this kind of atrocities on girls/women.This is happening almost in all over India.Only difference is percentage.Which may vary from place to place. That is all. This is happening only because our legal system is not in place.Because our judiciary system is like Goondaraj being controlled by politicians with criminal records.Whether it is prostitute or bar/dance girl their privacy should be maintained.Once the strict and stringent law is implemented regardless of their status, caste, relegion, position whoever may it be hope there may not be any room to repeat such heinous activities. Now it has become daily affairs because no fear at all.In some cases even police department is in helpless state because of improper guidelines and pressure from political leaders.Under the circumstance we can not blame police department squarely for their inactiveness. That is Law department/minister and related departments/authorities must look in to the matter and take note of the situation and act seriously and give proper guidelines to police department so that they can take the matter very seriously and act accordingly.Which they never do because they may loose the ministerial berth again politics there.Whole India is heading in a wrong direction. What is this hapless girls are being abducted and gang raped in isolated places? Why there is no action against the culprits?Very sorry affair.

Roshan Braganza... I am shocked to hear a male chauvinist opinion like yours..!! Here is crime which has to be probed. Are you trying to give a clean chit to these rogues? Even if it were to be a sex worker, no man has the right to violate her privacy against her wishes!! Be aware of these basics...
When a husband forces himself on his wife against her wishes, THAT ALSO IS RAPE...mind you! Marriage is not a licence to rape your wife!
Please be a bit more compassionate to women.

This is all because of the present Governments easy going attitude on such acts, where the ministers or their kin were involved and were absolved. Now it has spread, as there is no fear of actions being taken against the culprits.
Police too are very lethargic in such kind of cases, to trace the culprits, as they may be already aware that the law breakers have political immunity.
If, by chance, the Police officer takes action against the culprits, he will be transferred without delay , as such the police are not much interested in taking action.

There is no end male victims , by mis using special social and legal powers vested on them , by women. This looks like framed case of 'abduction' and 'rape' , when the compromise soars , male become rapist , Consensus becomes ' force'. I still wonder , if male can cross complain these bar girls , vl there be any clauses ?!. As we near International mens day in november , its the high time men voice too be heard.
