Udupi: Kadiyali Anantharama Upadhya Passes Away

Anantharama Upadhya who was the president of Kadiyali Shree Mahishamardhini temple managing committee breathed his last on October 20 morning.

He is survived by his wife, four sons, two daughters and a number of fans. He was 84.
 
Born in the year 1929 on March 27, Upadhya began his banking profession with Syndicate bank and served as the divisional manager for a long period before retiring from the bank. He had bonded well with the members at the Pai Group.
 
He also took the responsibility of management of Kadiyali Mahishamardhini temple, which came to him through his family line, for a  decade and successfully developed the temple. He was active in various religious activities that took place in coastal districts and extended his support towards all religious and cultural programmes.
 
He was associated with late Dr V S Acharya and took part in various social and religious programmes with him. He was recently re-elected as the president of managing committee of Kadiyali temple.
 
Paryaya Sode Shree Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, pontiffs of all 8 mutts in Udupi, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Samskara Bharathi, Hindu Yuva Sene, Rotary organizations, Taluk Brahmana Mahasabha, Yuva Brahmana Parishad, Kadiyali Sarvajanika Ganeshothsava Samithi, Kadiyali temple management committee, Bharath Swabhiman Trust, Thangodu Shree Subrahmanya temple management committee among others condoled the death of Upadhya.
