This temple was and built by Billava community people without any other religion or cast's support hence only Billawas are allowed to perform pooja, but any one can come and pray and take the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Class system was relevant once upon a time but not any more. People from any class/caste is eligible to do any kind of job these days. Even men and women too are equally empowered as far as present day society is concerned. It is all in our mind.

The function here is appreciated by all, & at the same time let us not drag religious sentiments too far. Since ages certain sects are considered professional experts as moghaveeras - who are good fisherman, Vishwakrma - who are skilled in making stone/Wooden statutes, ornanments etc., Kshatrias who are warriors. It is natural that one wish to have a professional skilled person for his work. So has been the case of Brahmins. On religous part, it is their profession, & so most of time they where called observing their skill. I feal better live this matter to people's fealings & thoughts, & not make a clash among castes.

What is all this Vaidik, Billawa, Shetty, Brahmin, Shudra and so. So many classes among us hindus. When will we be free from this class system and all hindus be just one class? When will a dalit purohit worship in Udupi, Pejavar, Puttige, Sode or any other mutt? This is a shame on us. Will it ever be a reality or is a distant dream? Till we come out of this class system we will never progress.

Kudroli is a pride to all the Billawas and to the mankind itself.Shri Narayana Guru and his thoughts 'All God's Creation had Right to Worship the Almighty and Preached that People irrespective of all castes creed or religion must worship one divine force, known by different names.Today the Kshethra attracts devotees all over the communities and we see Kudroli ' A Unity in Diversity'.

@ P.Shivaram Shetty, Appreciate your thought. Even Bunt community people are aware of this. Brahmin Priest, its their profession by root and its by ancient days this caste has been entrusted with this profession and we feel its done in total professionalism. If we do all these rituals by self we are affecting their livelihood of those for who is depended on this for living. Recent times most of the younger generation is opting for other lucrative profession and gradually there will be change. I will be happy by entrusting this job to Brahmin priest and we are making their livelihood .

It is very pleasing to see that 200 Billava Priests independently Performed Barahmma Kalasha Rituals without any interference from Vaidik Purohits.

Bunts community which rolls at the feet of Brahmin Priests should learn to free their community from the vice like grip of Vaidika Purohits just like Billava community has done.
