Moodbidri, Oct 22: Large quantities of explosive materials were found in a sewer on Sunday October 21 in a land belonging to the ‘Pobsons’ company near Paladka-Kadandale, creating panic among the locals.

The explosive materials were sighted by Harish Poojary, when he took his cattle for grazing.  He assumed that the explosives might be have been stored by naxalites and immediately informed the police.

The police arrived at the spot and seized the explosives.

Sources said that the explosives belonged to the ‘Pobsons’ stone mining company and around 4,923 detonator sticks which were kept in gunny sacks and plastic bags were dumped in the sewer.

The explosives were kept in a forest area which was around one and a half kilometer away from the company.

Police while investigating found that the detonator belonged to the company and is now kept at a safer location. Legal action will be conducted after a complete investigation of the case, said police sources.

It is learnt that three people died last year due to explosions that took place at the Fobsons Company.

Under the guidance of Mangalore commissioner, circle inspector AK Thimayya, PSI Ramesh Kumar, Tashildar Basavaraj visited the spot and carried out investigation.

Explosives and it's storage should be in a strict containment rather than hidden somewhere?. The act is a nelgligence from the company's part or a kind of Mis-chief game of somebody, only the investigation will reveal the motive behind?.

Real Careless attitude of Fobsons Company .They would have taken extreme care so that none of the Detonators and explosives used for Industrial purpose would be stolen by unscrupulous person and used for Terrorist activity .The Industries policy should be SAFETY FIRST PROFIT NEXT
