Kundapur, Oct 22: Chaos prevailed at Tallur near Hemmadi on national highway 66 here on Monday October 22 following a minor issue over overtaking between a private bus and a Mahindra pick-up vehicle.

The accident took place at Tallur circle when the pick-up truck carrying logs and plying from Gangolli to Kundapur overtook a Mahadevi bus travelling in the same direction and came in the latter's way. This led to a confrontation, with the result that the pick-up vehicle driver Ratnakar allegedly caught hold of bus driver Krishna by his shirt. Angered at this, Krishna brought a rod from the bus and reportedly beat up Ratnakar.

Ratnakar, while trying to defend himself and avoid getting hit on the chest, ended up breaking his arm. He was admitted to Chinmayee Hospital in Kundapur.

The locals who gathered at the spot surrounded the bus and allegedly thrashed the bus driver. Tallur rickshaw drivers' union president Shekar Poojary and others intervened in the matter and prevented further damage.

As a result of the incident, traffic was affected for about half-an-hour on the highway.

Kundapur traffic police as well as other policemen rushed to the sport and brought the situation under control.

A case has been registered in Kundapur police station.

Most of the limited stops and fast express bus drivers are impatient, aggressive, rude and give damn care to other motorists. Their driving is rash and hazardous. In the event of fatal accident they escape from the scene and the punishment at the most is a case in the court which will drag for years and stay home idle for some days before re-joining the duty. Unless a stringent penal action is instituted, the wreckless driving practice by these errant drivers to continue.

NH 66 belt from mangalore is very chaeotic once u cross mangalore. Pollution , dirt , traffic , but once crossing udupi it gets better and better , specially after kundapur. Places like hemmadi , maravnthe , byndoor , shiroor r blessed with green nature and so far clean. The prestine mangroves , clean rivers and beaches ,white sands , paddy fields are mesmerizing. Road side fish eateries and coconut arrack ( kal or shendi are very frequent. )

No Tolerance, Indians will kill Indians in the name of Pride, culture ,Religion, Region. This happened in the past will happen now and in the future. Still we call Indians are peace lovers. Most cruel citizens, cut animals to appease Gods, but against eating. Sacrifice humans to appease Gods but no mercy. Where we are heading. real Indians wake up.
