Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore

Mangalore, Oct 23: In a daring act, a four-member gang barged into a house at Krishnapura 6th block in the city on Monday October 22 evening and robbed the residents of jewellery worth Rs 1 lac and valuables.

It is learnt that the gang members gained entry into the house of Abdul Samad, an employee of NMPT.

The gang sprinkled a form of liquid into Samad's face and even attacked and threatened him. They snatched a chain, bracelet and a finger ring from his wife and fled the scene with gold weighing six sovereign and two cell phones. After being unable to find any other valuables, they locked the couple and their child in the bathroom and fled from the place.

Due to heavy rains in the region electricity supply was stalled in the area. The gang reportedly entered the house on the basis of information they had collected earlier.

A member of the gang was speaking in Beary language while others communicated in Tulu and Kannada, informed Abdul Samad to the police.

When the couple who were locked in the bathroom shouted for help, their neighbors came to their rescue. By then the robbers had already escaped.

Suratkal police inspector M A Nataraj along with others visited the spot and investigated.

Dear Sunil D`Souza , I think you have not visited Mangalore since years. Now Mangalore city limits are even upto Suratkal and this place called Krishnapura ( not a new settlement) is near Suratkal Railway Station. Please visit that place and you will feel proud to be a Mangalorean to see such nice houses spread all over in that place.
