Bangalore, Oct 23 : Bangalore police have issued an Interpol Red Corner notice against underworld element Hebbet Manja after reports of his involvement in the recent attack on Mangalorean entrepeneur in Bangalore Dayanand Pai.

In September 2011, Bangalore's 7th ACMM court had issued an arrest warrant against Manja, but he had escaped abroad. Currently there are 15 criminal cases pending against Manja including three murders, three murder attempts, four riots, and three dacoities. Eleven cases are registered in Shimoga and four in Bangalore city.

It was reported that Hebbet Manja's aides attempted to murder Dayanada Pai last week at Basavanagudi, but Pai escaped unhurt. Later Manja claimed responsibility for the attack by calling up a Kannada news channel. Four aides of Manja were arrested by the Bangalore police after the incident. During interrogation, police have learnt that these four elements were involved in attempt to murder and loot cases. Police have recovered weapons, a vehicle and mobile phones from the accused.

Police suspect that Hebbet Manja is hiding in Dubai or in Thailand. Bangalore police has also asked assistance from Interpol to reach Manja.
