Mangalore: Rotary Foundation Seminar Inaugurated

Mangalore, Oct 23: The “Zonal level Rotary Foundation Seminar” was held on October 21 at the Rotary Bala Bhavan, Mangalore.

Kerala State Badagara city based industrialist and Past District 3202 governor Prakash Mundangat inaugurated the session.

              

In his inaugural address, he revealed that the Rotary Foundation played a key role in eradication of Polio – a dreaded disease from the world.

It was well acclaimed all over the world and during the natural disaster Tsunami, the selfless relief services rendered by the foundation to the victims and the efforts to rehabilitee them was also recognized and appreciated all over the world.

Rotary district governor Dr B Devdas Rai was the chief guest on this occasion. In his address, he appealed to all the delegates to strengthen the foundation activities by contributing voluntarily and very liberally to the foundation.

Assistant regional rotary foundation Chairman PDG Surya Prakash Bhat and district rotary foundation chairman PDG Krishna Shetty participated as resource persons and defined the foundation’s policies, future programmes, and target set for the year. Zonal Ccordinator K S Chacko delivered the introductory address.

On this occasion, city based eminent industrialist, planter Sebastian Thomas was felicitated for his invaluable contribution of US $10,000 (Rs 5.40 lacs) to the foundation by the assistant governor Sadashiv Shetty.

Gurudas Karkera, president of Rotary Club of Mangalore South welcomed and secretary Jagadish proposed a vote of thanks.

About 150 Rotary delegates participated in the daylong deliberations.
