UAE Emirate Pardons 47 Prisoners


Fujairah (UAE), Oct 25 (IANS/WAM): The UAE emirate of Fujairah has ordered the release of 47 prisoners as a goodwill gesture on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha.

The order was issued by Fujairah ruler Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi Wednesday. All had earlier proven their eligibility for the amnesty. Eid-al-Adha is an important religious holiday, beginning Thursday, celebrated by Muslims worldwide.
