Pakistan Cuts CNG Price

Islamabad, Oct 26 (IANS): The Pakistani government Thursday slashed its CNG price by Rs.30.90 despite opposition from gas station owners.

The Oil and Gas Regulation Authority has made the announcement after the Supreme Court ordered it to revise its CNG prices, Dawn reported.

CNG will now be sold in Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan at Rs.61.64 per kg, while in Sindh, Punjab and places the price will be Rs.54.16 per kg.

The apex court Thursday ruled that the profit rate and operating costs being charged on compressed natural gas (CNG) were illegal. The CNG association has rejected the move.
