Mangalore: Santosh Andrade Recieves Kalamela Prashasti

Mangalore, Oct 26: 'Suspicious silence second', an acrylic median painting made by Santosh Andrade, a prominent painter and resident of Chilimbi, Adarsh Nagar, has bagged the 'Mysore Dasara Mahotsava 2012 Kalamela Prashasti'.

This competition was organised by the Karnataka State Government along with the Mysore Dasara Kalamela sub-committee. The painting was selected under the Karnataka State level painting competition.

The prize was handed over during the dasara celebration, in the CTI building of Kawa Institute  in the presence of Mysore district commissioner, P S Vastrad and commissioner of  Mysore City Corporation, Dr M R Ravi.

The prize included a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 5,000. Mysore Kawa Institute dean, V A Deshpande and chief, Basavaraj Musavalagi were also present.

Santosh Andrade has completed his fine arts degree from Mahalasa Education trust, Mangalore and Srujana Fine Arts College, Dharwad. He has also been honored with other national and state levels awards and recognition for his paintings.

His paintings have also been showcased at international exhibitions as well.
