Let UPA Emulate Gadkari’s Example in Facing Probe, says Advani Aide

Let UPA Emulate Gadkari’s Example in Facing Probe, says Advani Aide

From Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore, Oct 26: Without taking any position on the charges of alleged irregularities in the investments in BJP National President Nitin Gadkari’s Purti Group, BJP patriarch L K Advani’s former aide Sudheendra Kulkarni on Friday challenged the Congress-led UPA regime to show the same standards of probity as the BJP leader in offering to face a probe into the charges against him.

Several Congress leaders and Cabinet ministers in the UPA regime have been accused of far more serious allegations of corruption and other irregularities with damning evidence, Kulkarni said wondering why none of the Congress leaders were ready to face any probe.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself has been accused of irregularities in the coalgate scam but was not interested in facing any kind of probe while Gadkari has offered to undergo any inquiry. ``Let Congress leaders and UPA too follow the same example,” he said.

He, however, declined answer questions on the charges against Gadkari and contended that the inquiry report must be awaited.

“Long before the national highway development project was conceptualised, he (Gadkari) had made the first expressway in the country as Maharashtra PWD Minister and he did it without facing any allegations of corruption,” he said.

The charges regarding the alleged bogus investments in the Purti Group owned by Gadkari by sugarcane farmers must be investigated, he said and pointed out that the BJP national president had clearly stated that he was open to any impartial probe.

To questions on former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s plans to quit the BJP, Kulkarni said losing a leader like him certainly was a matter of concern for the BJP as the Lingayat strongman had contributed a lot to the growth of BJP in the State for the last four decades. Kulkarni said it was unfortunate that many wrong-doings and unsavoury incidents had taken place during the former chief minister’s rule.

All party leaders should honour the aspirations of the people, who wanted good governance from the BJP.

On the demand for projecting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate, Kulkarni said the party high command would take a decision at the right time.

Undoubtedly, Modi is a very capable and powerful leader and would definitely will handsomely in the ongoing Gujarat assembly polls, he said pointing out that whether the Gujarat leader should enter the national political scene cannot be decided at this stage as general elections would be due in 2014 unless UPA regime falls much earlier.

BJP is not as much corrupt as congress. Secondly, BJP is much better in taking action against offenders - Naveen Shetty..

Naveen, we have seen how clean is BJP in Karnataka. I strongly disagree with you that BJP is better than congress. Congress was in power for more years and hence corruption issues are more in congress. BJP ruled Karnataka for four years and BJP rule was marred with corruption every other day. If BJP was in power for more years, then India would have been kept as a pledge with foreign financial institutions. That is the difference between congress and BJP.

With all his shady dealings, Gadkari is emulating the crooks in UPA. UPA & BJP are both corrupt but the difference is that BJP refuses to admit that there is a problem of corruption within BJP. Mota Maal from the Reddy’s Karnataka iron ore loot appears to have made Madam Sushma, ....

In Mumbai many Pvt limited Companies give Directorship to Employees ,Friends and Relatives etc by giving their own money .You cannot run a Pvt limited company with one man .I myself was offered Directorship in one of the Pharmaceutical company .That businessman showed already he had 2 of his sales managers as Directors in his Company .I had refused .This is a common practise just like when you buy a house seller asks for Black /white 40/60 . India's Financial Fraud Unit of Corporate affairs is one of the best in the world they can detect any dubious /money laundering transactions .There is automatic reporting to the RBI in the event of any Financial Frauds .The very fact that either Registrar of Companies or Ministry of Corporate affairs has not done any investigations till last week itself vindicates that all the investments of Purti group are well within normal limits .But still if there is any doubt Mr Gadkari has shown willingness for probe .Let there be a fair probe and till such time we should not abandon Gadkariji

Nitin Gadkhari is India's most honest man unlike Sushma Swaraj. Sushma is living on Janardhana Reddy's iron ore money which she never gave the central leadership . Sushma's children are all doing very very well ( normally useless children ) with the BJP's election fund money.Let her not deny that.

It is the hand of God and the tears of the poor that are exposing these thieves whatever party they belong. Media should never give up till they end up behind bars.
Defending the guilty shows the utter moral bankruptcy of the party.

Ismaliji and others, Being educated folks, dont be baised like IsmailJi. Both INC and BJP are corrupt. Only the number of scams would say who is more corrupt. After all no one would be punished. Sonia or Gadkari, behind the screen all would shake hands cutting party lines. So, educated folks wake up and express unbiased opinion. Dont carried away with your parents or forefathers opinion. They dont hold good in todays world.

Now when theier own President is facing corrupt charges they all are opposing it.This is not fair,As everybody knows these allegations is a story for the media, after few days if some other story comes this stoy will vanish. In indian politics any thing can happen, No wonder.as on today it seems Mr.Nitin Gadkari's fate in balance.

If you talk about corruption From Jeep scam in 1949 to CoalGate COngress can not be beaten. You are right, BJP even would come near INC. After INC should be renamed as Indian Corrupt party.

As you are saying Congress will never initiate any probe against its own people
Why you are not saying the same thing to BJP ministers\gadkari etc and say we should root out BJP from Karnataka
You and BJP will never change - two faced reprile - dangerous for everyone -
My suggestion to you - first root out most corrupt BJP Govt. from Karnataka and then go for the Govt. at the central
If Congress had mandate, today India would have been shining so brightly that no BJP could even raise their head and dare to look up.
I wonder if there would have been a party named BJP at all -

Congress will never initiate any probe against its own people. Congress means corruption. We are left with only option to root out congress - Naveen Shetty.

Yes Naveen Shetty..You are right. Congress is corrupt and people should rout out Congress and people need to show faith in equally corrupt BJP....Congress means corruption and at the same time BJP too means corruption. All these politicians are hand in glouse with each other irrespective of their affiliations. It is a fact that Nitin Gadkari and Sharad Pawar shared the bounty in corruption in Maharashtra..
