Quack arrested for posing as doctor

New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS) A 53-year-old quack posing as a doctor was arrested for running a clinic here, police said Saturday.

Suresh Verma was arrested from his clinic in south Delhi's Munirka Friday.

"Verma has been running a clinic claiming himself to be an MBBS degree holder. After failing to produce the degree, he was arrested," said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police.

"His mother's death inspired him to become a doctor. He studied up to Class 10 and completed a diploma in ayurveda from Uttar Pradesh in 1984. Later, he started his clinic and would prescribe patients allopathic medicines," Sharma said.
