Mangalore: Vivekraj Wins Gold in K V National Chess Championship

Mangalore, Oct 28: Derik’s Chess School talent Vivekraj won the gold medal in the Kendriya Vidyalayas’ National Chess Championship held at Kanpur from October 15 to 20.

Vivekraj scored unbeaten 7 points in 8 rounds and stood above higher seeded Manas O T (Kerala) and Prajwal Shet (Bangalore) with a better tiebreak score.
 
With this performance, Vivekraj has been selected for the Kendriya Vidyalaya team to participate in National Inter School Chess Championship 2012-13 to be organized by the School Games Federation of India.
 
Vivekraj is studying in Kendriaya Vidyalaya No 2 of Ekkur.
