Singapore Airlines Launches First Flight to Yangon


Yangon, Oct 29 (IANS): Singapore Airlines Sunday launched its maiden flight to Yangon, bringing the number of foreign airlines operating to and from Myanmar to 18.

The airline will offer daily flights to Yangon using Boeing 777-200 aircraft. A ceremony was organised at Yangon International Airport to mark the occasion, Xinhua reported.

Other foreign airlines operating from the country included Korean Airlines, Qatar Airlines and All Nippon Airways.

Hong Kong-based Dragon Air, Germany's Condor Airlines and Taiwan-based TransAsia Airways are also planning to launch flights to Myanmar in the near future.
