Holy Union - Couple from Bantwal Tie the Knot at Mecca After Performing Hajj

Bantwal, Oct 31: We have heard of marriages on airplanes, parachutes, underwater and what not. But a couple from Bantwal chose a wedding venue that many Muslims dream of, but few make it possible.

In what can be called a rare happening, a couple from the taluk tied the knot in Mecca, Saudi Arabia after performing Hajj.

The marriage was solemnized on Monday October 29.

Mohammed Ashraf, son of the late Saibu Beary, a resident of Manjalguttu married Arshiya Al-Kamar, daughter of S P Hameed, native of B C Road who is based in Riyadh. Arshiya is a final year student of BA at Government Colllege in Bantwal, while Ashraf is a businessman in Dubai.

Ashraf had recently come back to his hometown, after which the alliance was fixed by the two families on September 24. The wedding was fixed for October 29 with the permission of Suribail Juma mosque.

Arshiya along with her grandmother Mariyamma and uncle Abdul Rahiman Kelinje undertook Hajj pilgrimage on September 29, and on the other side, Mohammed Ashraf did the same accompanied by his mother Aisamma, uncle and aunt on October 2.

After performing the Hajj, the marriage was solemnized under the guidance of Suribail Darul Ashariyya edutional institution president Mahmoodul Faizi in Mecca.

A couple from this part of the world tying the knot on Hajj piligrimage to Mecca is indeed a rare event. Arshiya will return to her hometown on November 13, while Ashraf will return on November 16.
