Air India's good performance in October

Mumbai, Oct 31 (IANS): National carrier Air India carried a record 34,911 passengers on a single day Oct 28 on its domestic network, an official said here Wednesday.

This month (till last Sunday), Air India carried over 30,000 passengers in a single day seven times - Oct 18, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28.

Compared to this, last year, it had achieved this benchmark (carrying over 30,000 passengers in a single day) on just 10 occasions.

Last Monday (Oct 29), the carrier achieved a 95 percent seat factor on the domestic sector and 69 percent on the international sectors from New Delhi.

The northern region also notched 90 percent seat occupancy on the domestic sectors and 68 percent in the international sectors.

October also saw Air India's 'flying returns', a frequent flyer programme crossing the one million mark and continuing to grow with 400 new members being added daily.

This is a very inconvient time to reach Blr.By the time you get off the Blr airport the time would be 8.45pm. Then another hour atleast to reach your destination in town.So be prepared to reach your place at 9.45pm.

I am not happy with this timing.

This is really a good news for gulf bound NRIs, given the transit time in Mangalore is less than 2 hours. As such there is a scarcity of direct flights from Bangalore to the Arabian gulf unlike other south indian cities of Kerala, chennai and Hyderabad. Hope Air-India express will also try to improve their in-flight service by adding some good meal options for the travellers.

Although this is a welcome move, I suggest AIEx to introduce a morning flight as well. Many flights come in from the gulf region in the morning to Mangalore. This will bring down the ticket price of Spicejet & Jet Airways on the Mlr - Blr segment.Competition is healthy and the public will have a choice.

Well, there should be a flight Mlr-Blr- Madurai & Mlr-Jaipur-Delhi too.

Very good - such good arrangement -
    Bangalore\Mang - 7.15 P.M.\8.15PM - convenient for Mang\Dubai flight -
Poor passengers - believing this Air India - will have to take a tent with them to pitch it outside airport till they get their next flight to Dubai!!!
Air India has yet to start or reach any flight on time and here the time in between for Dubai flight is less than two hours.
Most of the time Passengers from B'lore\Mang\Dubai will be stranded at Mangalore.
If any such problem please contact Oscar fernandes - he is ever ready to help you all to solve any problems related to airport\customs

Idea is good for in revenue generating point of view, but I think they put more pressure on our Coastal based passengers due to limited availability of seats. So, we need more International Carrier soon. Or maybe this is the outcome of International Airport Title to Mangalore Airport since AIE fear arrival of few Foreign Air Craft soon
